DGCA CPL

Indian DGCA Commercial Pilot Licence theory preparation.

Yes, both the physical mechanical flight computer (E6B slide rule) and the electronic flight computer (ASA CX-3) are fully permitted for navigation charting calculations.

The minimum passing score is exactly 70% for each paper. There is currently no negative marking for wrong options.

The Air Navigation paper consists of 100 multiple choice questions to be completed in 150 minutes (2.5 hours).

Active mock papers cover Air Navigation (General Navigation, Radio Navigation, and Aircraft Instruments sub-topics), Aviation Meteorology, and Air Regulations. Technical General and Technical Specific content is under development.

Heading380 splits Air Navigation into three sub-topics matching the DGCA syllabus: General Navigation, Radio Navigation, and Aircraft Instruments. Full mock papers sample all three in the official ratio with a 150-minute limit and 70% pass threshold.

RTR(A) is a separate radio-telephony licence examination and is not one of the CPL theory papers. RTR(A) content covering radio telephony operations and aviation phraseology is on the Heading380 roadmap.

DGCA ATPL

Indian DGCA Airline Transport Pilot Licence theory preparation.

The minimum passing score is exactly 70% for each subject. You must clear all three core subjects to be eligible for command license issue.

Yes. General Navigation is highly computational and requires either the ASA CX-3 electronic computer or the mechanical E6B slide rule.

Passed ATPL exam results are valid for a period of 5 years from the date of passing to complete your multi-engine type rating requirements.

The DGCA ATPL builds on CPL theory subjects and adds advanced coverage of airline performance, multi-engine systems, high-altitude meteorology, and operational procedures at airline scale.

Full ATPL mock papers on Heading380 contain 60–100 questions per subject, with time limits matching DGCA examination structure. Multi-subject sessions are also available to test cross-topic readiness in a single sitting.

Yes. The VIVA module presents oral-style questions drawn from the ATPL syllabus — covering procedures, system logic, and regulation scenarios in the format used by DGCA-approved examiners. Sessions are self-assessed and can be repeated until you match examiner-level expectation.

EASA ATPL

European Union Aviation Safety Agency Part-FCL ATPL theory.

Heading380's questions are carefully structured based on standard EASA learning objectives and aligned with ECQB syllabus guidelines to ensure high-fidelity retention. They are not licensed ECQB reproductions — they are written to test the same concepts at the same cognitive level you meet in an EASA-approved ATO examination room.

Candidates must achieve at least 75% on each of the 14 subjects. There is no negative marking, but you must pass all papers within 6 sittings and 18 months.

Yes. General Navigation and Flight Planning require standard Jeppesen student manuals. Practice referencing routes in our exams suite.

The EASA ATPL comprises 14 subjects: Air Law, AGK Systems, AGK Instrumentation, Mass & Balance, Performance, Flight Planning & Monitoring, Human Performance, Meteorology, General Navigation, Radio Navigation, Operational Procedures, Principles of Flight, VFR & IFR Communications, and Instrument Flight Procedures. Heading380 covers all 14, with active question banks currently live for Principles of Flight and General Navigation.

General Navigation, Radio Navigation, and Principles of Flight historically have the lowest first-attempt pass rates under EASA. Heading380 applies adaptive spaced repetition for these subjects, weighting weak sub-topics (chart projections, VOR/DME geometry, swept-wing aerodynamics, compressibility effects) heavily in your next session so you spend time where it matters most.

Yes. EASA Part-FCL theoretical knowledge preparation is geography-independent. Heading380 supports both EASA and DGCA syllabi in the same platform, making it suitable for Indian cadets pursuing EASA licences through approved ATO programmes in Europe or approved distance-learning arrangements.

FAA Knowledge Tests

FAA Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, and ATP written tests.

Your FAA written test results remain fully valid for 24 calendar months after passing. You must complete your checkride within this window.

Every answer in Heading380 is tagged with its active ACS subject code, showing you exactly which knowledge elements or risk factors require review.

Heading380 covers preparation for the Private Pilot (PAR), Instrument Rating (IRA), and Commercial Pilot (CAX) FAA Knowledge Tests, plus the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) written. Question sets reference the FAA Airman Certification Standards (ACS) and are updated when FAA revises its test specifications.

All FAA Knowledge Tests require a minimum 70% score. Unlike EASA and DGCA exams, the FAA does not apply negative marking — unanswered or incorrect questions score zero. Heading380's FAA mode replicates this: no deduction for wrong answers, with the focus on accuracy rather than penalised guessing.

The FAA Private Pilot written (PAR) contains 60 questions with a 2.5-hour limit. The Commercial Pilot (CAX) contains 100 questions with a 3-hour limit. Heading380 mock papers replicate these structures, sampling across aerodynamics, regulations, weather, and navigation topics.

Yes. FAA sectional chart interpretation, IFR en-route chart reading, and instrument approach plate questions are included in the Instrument Rating (IRA) preparation module. Chart-based questions are the highest-difficulty item type in IRA testing, and Heading380 provides annotated explanations referencing the chart legend for every figure-based question.

A320 Type Rating

Airbus A320 type rating technical systems and ECAM preparation.

Most airlines and regulators demand a minimum score of 80% to pass the technical systems knowledge evaluation paper before sim entries.

Our database contains custom scenarios mapping transition triggers between Normal Law, Alternate Law, and Direct Flight Law, including alpha protection logic and ground spoiler arming conditions.

Heading380 covers 16 ATA chapters: ATA 21 Air Conditioning, ATA 22 Auto Flight, ATA 23 Communications, ATA 24 Electrical Power, ATA 26 Fire Protection, ATA 27 Flight Controls, ATA 28 Fuel, ATA 29 Hydraulic Power, ATA 30 Ice & Rain Protection, ATA 32 Landing Gear, ATA 33 Lights, ATA 34 Navigation, ATA 36 Pneumatic, ATA 49 APU, ATA 70 Powerplant CFM56, and ATA 73 Engine Fuel & Control.

The ECAM abnormal section presents system failure scenarios drawn from FCOM Chapter 3 procedures. Questions test recall of the corrective action sequence, affected LRUs, inhibition logic, and crew coordination steps — matching the oral questioning format used by type rating examiners during simulator debrief sessions.

Yes. The A320ceo and neo family (A318, A319, A320, A321) shares the same fly-by-wire architecture, ECAM philosophy, and FCOM structure. Heading380 content is applicable across CFM56-5B and CFM56-5A powered variants. IAE V2500 variant-specific differences are noted where they diverge from CFM56 behaviour.

Heading380 prepares you for the theoretical ground examination component of the type rating. Simulator procedural handling — SID, STAR, non-precision approaches, and engine-out drills — requires actual sim hours with an approved training organisation. Heading380's VIVA module is designed to rehearse the oral debrief style examiners use after each sim session.

A320 Systems

ATA chapter coverage, ECAM logic, and FCOM-based study.

The Heading380 A320 Systems module covers all ATA chapters from 21 to 80 in the Airbus FCOM, including flight controls (ELAC/SEC/FAC), hydraulics, electrical bus architecture, pneumatics, fuel systems, pressurisation, and ECAM abnormal procedures — structured for Type Rating exam preparation.

The most heavily tested A320 systems in TRTO technical exams are ATA 27 (Flight Controls — ELAC/SEC/FAC computer logic), ATA 24 (Electrical power bus distribution), ATA 29 (Hydraulic systems — Green, Blue, Yellow circuits), and ATA 36 (Pneumatics — bleed air and pressurisation).

Effective A320 Type Rating preparation requires daily ATA-chapter question drilling, spaced repetition of ECAM abnormal logic, and full timed mock exams under exam conditions. Most operators require 80% to pass the technical systems paper before a candidate enters the simulator phase.

Flight Deck Calculators

Free public aviation calculators — no account required.

No. Every Flight Deck calculator is free and public — crosswind components, density altitude, ground speed, METAR and TAF decoding, top of descent, weight and balance, and the E6B and CX-3 flight computer emulators all work without signing in.

The calculators implement standard aviation formulas (ISA atmosphere, wind triangle, rule of three, great-circle distance) and are suitable for study, cross-checking, and exam preparation. They are training aids — always verify operational figures against your aircraft's approved flight manual and current official data before flight.

Yes. The E6B and CX-3 emulators mirror the physical instruments permitted in DGCA and EASA examination halls, so you can rehearse the same workflow you will use in the exam. The integrated Flight Planning Workspace walks an eight-step route calculation end to end.

Mock Exams

Full-length exam simulations with official timing and scoring rules.

Mock exams mirror the official syllabus weighting, question distribution, section timing, negative-marking rules (where applicable), and pass thresholds of the real examination. They are designed to feel like sitting the actual paper — same subject mix, same time pressure, same scoring rules.

Yes. Mock exams are fully responsive and work on phones and tablets. The timer, navigation, and question layout all adapt to smaller screens.

Yes. Every mock exam attempt is recorded in your analytics dashboard with per-subject scores, weak-area flags, and time-per-question data. You can review past attempts at any time.

Question Bank

Where questions come from and how they are maintained.

Questions are written by active instructors and working pilots against published EASA, DGCA, and FAA syllabi. They are structured based on standard learning objectives and aligned with official examination guidelines. They are not licensed reproductions of any examining body's question bank — they are written to test the same concepts at the same cognitive level.

Questions are continuously reviewed and updated against the latest published exam guidance. When an examining body revises its syllabus or test specifications, the affected question sets are revised to match.

Yes. Every question includes a flag option. Flagged questions go into a review queue for the content team. You can also leave a note explaining what you believe the issue is.
